My Philosophy

"We need to bring learning to people instead of people to learning."  Elliott Masie

I believe everyone deserves access to the knowledge and education they desire, whether it be K-12 learning, a college degree, or vocational/corporate training.  I strive to help people acheive their educational goals.

My Background

After earning my degree in English Writing in 2013, I've been working full time from home as a publishing support specialist for a small publishing company.  In the years that have passed since earning my undergrad degree,  I've spent a significant amount of time reflecting on my time spent at school.  I had the priveledge of earning a large portion of my degree online.  In fact, if it wasn't for online/eLearning, I likely would not have been able to finish my degree.  I wasn't a "traditional" undergrad student.  I attended school as an adult while working full time and taking care of my school age daughter.  In addition, my current job is a remote position, meaning I work entirely from home.  Again, this wouldn't even be possible without current technology that fosters long distance learning and communication.

I would love nothing more than to become a part of this growing trend of adult and online learning.   With this site, I will showcase the skills and knowledge I've gained through the ILT program.

My Life

While I am very busy with work and school, in my free time, I love to hang out with my family.  My husband, Dan, and my daughter, Brieanna, and I enjoy camping, playing games, road trips, and just vegging out on the couch watching tv together.  My three dogs and three cats keep me company when I'm working from home.  And when I do get out of the house, my new hobby is running.  My goal is to run my next 5K in under 29 minutes.  Wish me luck!
