Facebook Fan Page

I have not created a Facebook Fan Page, but after looking at these sites, I am a bit intrigued. I always thought of them as great marketing tool for businesses to use to promote their themselves, but now am interested in how they could be used in an educational setting. I feel like I would be pretty likely to at least TRY using Facebook as part of teaching/training. Reading the artiles How Professors are Using Facebook to Teac (Links to an external site.)h and 100 Ways to Use Facebook in Education (Links to an external site.), gave me so many ideas that had never occured to me as far as using Facebook as an online teaching tool.

I really like the idea of creating groups, and having the students collaborate online. I also think having students create content and sharing it online is a great real-world application. The only way that I had seen Facebook used in education though, was when you see those posts of teachers who are trying to show their students (usually pre-teen) age, how quickly things can spread on the internet, which is probably a good lesson!
